Sunstrand fibers are compatible with thermoset and thermoplastic sheet and bulk molding compounds, as well as infusion processes. Our goal is to provide products that are drop-in replacements for glass fibers.

Wet Lay

Sunstrand’s wet-lay applications of long discontinuous fibers, produces continuous fiber mats that can be mixed with thermoset or thermoplastic polymers for subsequent compression molding. Wet-lay non-woven formation results in a mat like product that can vary from thermoformable felts, to mats for thermoset resin infusion. Wet-lay mats can also be needle-punched to increase the mat density and integrity. Wet-lay non-wovens can be designed to suit your specific needs. Endless options and variations are available.
