Ag. Development Director Shane Ball to present at the National Farm Machinery Show

The Agribusiness Industry Network is hosting a panel discussion about the State of Kentucky’s hemp industry. The meeting takes place Wednesday, February 13 at 1 pm during the National Farm Machinery Show. We’ll meet at the Kentucky Expo Center, South Wing B105.

The recent Farm Bill legalized the production of hemp. Our program will deal with how this crop will impact Kentucky agriculture and the emerging hemp markets. Our panel will discuss this important topic and then make themselves available for questions.

Speakers include:

Joe Bilby, who serves as general counsel to the Kentucky Department of Agriculture. He has played a key role in the development of hemp policy in Kentucky.

Josh Hendrix, Director of Business Development – Domestic Production for CV Sciences, Inc. He works with numerous organizations to develop supply chain infrastructure for hemp.

John Taylor, Co-Founder, Commonwealth Extracts, a company that processes hemp and produces CBD.

Steve Rutledge, President, Professional Land Management, Inc. and his associate, John Smith, both of whom are involved in hemp production.

Shane Ball, Agriculture Development Director, Sunstrand Sustainable Materials. This firm supplies natural fibers reinforcements and fillers for the plastic and polymer composite industry.
